Racquetball at the YMCA
Amanda and I had some fun at the Y last night. We played racquetball or should I say tried to play racquetball on one of the courts at the Lakewood Y. I've found I'm really good at hitting the ball to the ceiling and the side walls but not so great at hitting the wall in front of me. I also discovered my arms are much shorter than I thought they were. The ball likes to just fly right by me missing my racquet by a good foot. Amanda is very coordinated. She ran right into the wall at one point and hurt her wrist. She now thinks she has arthritis. :) Then when we were walking out Amanda flirted with the old guy waiting outside our court asking if he wanted some competition. It was a good laugh. Anyway, its a fun work out even if we suck at it.

Just my luck
I burnt a perfectly good bagel this morning. It was so smokey in the breakroom I had to open the fire exit door to air it out. Thankfully no smoke alarms went off. I ended up scraping off the burnt part and eating it anyway. I couldn't let a perfectly good bagel go to waste!

4th of July weekend
I know its been a while but I've been boring these last few weeks. 4Th of July weekend was fun though. Danielle and I headed over on Friday to a campground near eburg. The KOA to be exact. It was right on the Yakima river which was nice but the campsites were a little too close together for my liking. Here's a pic of our campsite. Don't be jealous of the My Little Pony table cloth on the table.Went to lunch at the Yellow Church Cafe. So delicious! It was so good we went back the next day for lunch again. I ordered the exact same thing as I did the day before..homemade chili, salad and a heavenly loaf. Mmmm..I recommend the carrot cake.

Anyway...we went for a long walk along the river, walked around town hitting the Saturday Farmer's Market then hung out at our camp. Roasted some dogs and burnt marshmellows in the campfire. Here's some more pics we took.

Texas Trip to Visit Heather B!
I've been back in town for a few weeks now. With the weather being such crap lately, i'm wishing i was back in Houston even though the humidity about killed me. I flew late on Thursday. Heather, Doug and I went out for some yummy mexican food. Friday, Heather had to work a bit in the morning then we ended up going out for a little walk in her neighborhood. There are miles and miles of greenbelt trails surrounding the area. Very pretty. Later we went to get lunch at a little Mexican place by her house. We sat outside and continued to drink margaritas all afternoon.

I don't think i'll be drinking a margarita for a while. Makes me want to barf just looking at it in the picture.
The next day we all left for New Braunfels. A 3 hour drive north of houston. Not a fun drive while hung-over. New Braunfels is in between San Antonio and Austin. I loved the area! (Heather and Doug are getting married at a resort on the Gaudelupe river near there next spring and I look forward to exploring a little more.)
We drove out to the Guadelupe river, rented some tubes and jumped right in. This river was much slower than any of the rivers I float in Washington. And hundreds of people were there with great people watching. It was crazy. The first hour we barely moved but once we got past the bend we started moving more and hitting some rapids.
The following day we made our trek to Schlitterbaun. It was AWESOME! This place was huge. It was so big you had to take a shuttle to different parts of the park. It was made up into mostly tube rides. Lazy rivers and raging river rides. The park is set right next to the Comal River with lots of trees surrounding. The whole park is all river fed so there was no icky clorine to deal with. The longest float (and my favorite)took about 40 minutes and shot us into the actual river for a short distance. I did have an incident with a tube that was too small for my big ass. I grabbed a smaller tube thinking it was going to be easier for me to manuever around in but turns out..not so much. My butt got stuck in the tube and I kept dragging on the bottom. At one point in a deeper section (in front of several people in line)I flipped over and gave everyone a B.A. I'm so graceful.
Anyways, that's about it. Good times were had. Looking forward to visiting again! Thanks Heather for a wonderful time!

Texas or bust...

Well...tomorrow I will be on my way to Houston, TX to visit my friend Heather. I'm so excited for a little vacation. I am in desperate need of a break from work. Saturday we are going to take a little road trip to Schlitterbahn Water Park in New Braunsfel. It has been voted the #1 Water Park in the states several years in a row. I'm pumped!

Bridesmaid Part Deux
Well...You're in for a real treat. I've finally found the rest of my bridesmaid photos. I counted 8 total. I'm sure there will be more. Enjoy!
Here I am after my friend Melanie's wedding. Yeah..I look hot.
This is me at my friend Tiffany's wedding. I had just turned 21. As you can see with the wine in hand ready to party. I didn't love my dress. Sorry Tiff. :)
This picture was taken at my brother's wedding in West Palm Beach Florida. My sister in-law was nice enough to include me in the wedding party. I think there were 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen total. Most everyone that attended flew in from Washington, Tennensee, and Ohio. There was a cocktail luau the night before at the hotel. Josh got thrown in the pool and my dad was doing shots with everyone at the bar. Very fancy reception at this museum including a live band. Elvis even made an appearance! It was a total blast. OH and I loved my dress even though it was freaking hot outside and I was sweating like a pig.

Here I am at my cousin Ericka's wedding. The wedding was in my parents back yard so it was pretty casual. Lots of fun and my dress is cute!
And the next wedding is...Bobbi Jo! This dress has to be my favorite and most expensive. Alterations galore. I'm thinking about dying this dress black so I can wear it again. I think it looks too bridesmaidie in the lavender.
And here I am busting a move on the dance floor. I danced my ass off at this wedding. So much fun. My parents even came!!

And this is my 8th wedding! My BFF got married last summer and I had the pleasure of being the maid of honor. Loved my dress and this pic is of me and my mom (she performed the ceremony - you can call her Minister Maridy) and yes we're posing like Paris Hilton.

Always a bridesmaid...
As most of you know, I've been a bridesmaid several times. Until recently it seemed I was a bridesmaid in every wedding that I was invited to. I don't know why, I guess people like me or think I look hot in a bridesmaid dress. Looks like I'm in the clear for this summer. So, I thought I'd share a few photos of me as a bridesmaid in the many weddings I've attended.
It all started with my cousin Kara's wedding when I was thirteen. I was a junior bridesmaid/candle lighter. I thought I looked so hot in my green velvet/taffeta dress and my first high heels until I saw the other girls in their green velvet fitted dresses with huge puffy sleeves. Bitches.
The second wedding I was in was my cousin Crystal's. I think I was around 16?? We had our dresses made and I remember having to do tons of fittings and still my dress didn't fit correctly. I hated my hair. Come to think of it, I've hated my in most of the weddings I've been in. I had to have the lining pinned up right before I walked down the aisle. I was the first one down. I think I went to early or walked to fast because it seemed I waited for a really long time for the other girls to get to me. My cousin Ben and my brother were harassing me from the second row. Punks.
Anyway, more exciting dresses to follow!
