Listening to Lady GaGa

I have the cutest nieces on the planet. I took this video last June of the girls dancing to Poker Face by Lady GaGa. Ryan knew a lot of the words and sang along. I love how Kate dances around in circles with her hand on her hip.

January can not get here fast enough... I miss my girls!

MIA

I've been MIA for a while...but I'm back now! I've been reading the Pioneer Woman's blog lately. She's inspired me to get back on the blog bandwagon. I heart her! Well, let's see...a lot has happened since my last post. I got hooked on facebook so that's been taking most of my blogging time up. I'm getting a little bored with facebook so I figure I'll start back with blogging.

Since my last post I've taken a few trips. My friend Heather got married in March. Traveled down to San Antonio for the wedding. Actually, It was about 45 mins outside of San Antonio (halfway in between San Antonio and Austin) at the Hideout on the Horseshoe, New Braunfels, TX. It was gorgeous! Such a fun filled weekend and am hoping go back again some day. Here are a few pics from the wedding: After the wedding, I was able to spend a few days in San Antonio seeing some sights. The little town of Gruene, (the Gristmill and the oldest dance hall in Texas) The Alamo and the San Antonio Riverwalk were highlights! In June, I took off for a week to see my girls (Josh and Bran too)in Alexandria, VA. It was hot and humid. Spent a lot of time at the pool playing in the water, watched Ryan's ballet recital, and did a little sight seeing.
I taught Ryan and Kate how to pose like Lady GaGa while I was there. Here's a few shots of many...

How cute is Ryan in her ballerina costume?!

My last trip of the summer was to my home away from home...VEGAS! I went with my Mama this time. We had a great time relaxing by the pool, playing the slots, and seeing some shows. We saw Jon Lovitz one night and Beatles Love the next night. I loved the Beatles show! It was amazing. I can't believe I've waited so long to see a Cirque De Soleil show. It was the fastest 2 hours ever. Well, that's it for now. Since I'm on the blog bandwagon again, I'll be posting again soon!

Rock n' Roll Bowling

The girls and I hit the bowling ally a few weekends ago. Thanks all for the great night out!

My newest buys...

Hit the Coach Factory Outlet last week. They were having great deals. I was too cheap to buy a purse but ended up with a super cute red wallet and brown leather gloves (10 bucks!).

I also ordered online these shoes by Keen. I think they look like bowling shoes. They were perfect for my recent night out Rock n' Roll Bowling. Way fun.

Here's a few pics I took at the hospital the night after he was born.

I love...

DEXTER!
Since Big Love and Weeds is taking forever to come out on DVD, I started watching Dexter. I love it! I'm still on the first season. In fact, I've only watched the first 4 episodes. I'm hooked and am waiting impatiently for the next DVD to come in the mail. You should definitely check it out.

I'm also loving my new pants I ordered online at the Gap. The petite fits me perfectly. They're super cute and its so nice not having to hem! Well, I did end up having to hem one pair but the other one fit perfectly lengthwise.I can't wait til they go on sale so I can order more.

Christmas/Visit to Virginia

Hey Y'all! Sorry its been awhile. Thought I'd give you an update of my trip to Alexandria for Christmas with the fam.

First, getting out of Seatac was hell! Thank god for my friend Brian getting up at the crack of dawn and driving me in five inches of snow on the freeway to the airport on Sunday morning. Thanks Brian! I honestly don't know what I would have done with out you. After waiting outside in line to check my bags for over an hour I finally got to my gate. All was good upon boarding, just had to wait to get de-iced. That ended up not happening for another 6 hours after getting off the plane to eat, back on the plane to sit, then de-boarding the plane once again. Turns out I lucked out, my plane was one of the last ones to get out of Seatac that night. I arrived to DC about midnight. I can't believe no one (except Bran who loves me and picked me up at the airport)waited up for me! How dare they get their beauty sleep. I woke up the next morning to Ryan (my 3 1/2 year old niece) crawling up on my bed and jumping on me. She's so dang cute I couldn't be mad that I had only gotten a few hours of sleep. I had the best time with Ryan and Kate (other niece, just turned 2). We read lots of books, played hide and seek, danced, and watched Disney movies.

Brandy surprised me after a day of heavy duty shopping with my Christmas present from both Josh, Bran, and the girls. A ticket to see Legally Blonde the Musical at the Kennedy Center! They had given my mom a ticket too but she was too sick (bad sinus infection) and unable to go. That meant Josh was forced to go. He bitched about it but I know he secretly liked it :) It was great fun and the perfect Christmas present. Thanks again you guys!

Christmas Eve we all went to church in the afternoon. And no, I did not catch on fire when I entered the church. After Church we went over to Kelley and Dave's (Brandy's sister and bro in-law)for dinner. Unfortunately, I don't eat ham but the salad was delicious! The girls were super cute putting out the cookies, milk and carrots for Santa and his reindeer. Here's my dad reading the Night Before Christmas to us all before bedtime.

Christmas morning was so fun with the girls. Ryan was very excited that Santa ate the cookies and milk she had left for him. Santa brought her the bike she's been asking for (a Tinkerbell bike with all the bells and whistles)and Kate got a tricycle. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out and relaxing.

The rest of the week was pretty low key. Friday night we had a little get together and played Mexican Train. I won a few rounds ending up with some great gifts. Gotta love those itunes gift cards! Before leaving on Sunday evening, my Dad and I took the metro into DC. Ended up going to the American History museum and walking over to see the national tree and the white house. There were also 50 trees for each state displayed around the national tree. Turns out the Washington tree was from good ole' hilltop community. You can't tell it in the picture but it was covered in little glass blown ornaments. Very Dale Chihuly inspired.

As always, the week ended way too soon. I was glad to be home in my own bed with my kitty cat but I sure do miss Ryan and Kate! Looking forward to my next visit. Thanks again Josh and Brandy for such a wonderful Christmas!

10 Things I love that begin with the letter...C

About a week ago I came across the blog of Wandering DC. She had recently posted a blog on "I love the following 10 things that begin with the letter ___" So...I asked to join in. Just heard back from her and my letter is C!

Here goes... The 10 things I love that begin with the letter "C" are:

10. Coach Bags
I'm addicted. I really want the one pictured above even though its last seasons.

9. Cupcakes
Red Velvet with Creamcheese frosting to be exact. Amanda's are my favorite!

8. Camping
Here's me and P-Rizzo camping on the Yakima river last summer. I love sleeping in tents and roasting smore's on the campfire. I need to do more of it.

7. Cosmopolitins
I like all cocktails but Cosmo's are my fav.

6. Coast - Oregon/Washington
I love the beach! This picture was taken on Canon Beach. One of my favorite places to visit.

5. Coomputer
Gotta love my green laptop!

4. Chick-fil-a
I can not get enough of Chick-fil-a. No Chick-fil-a in Washington though. So, I only get it a few times a year when I visit DC/VA. Their nuggets and waffle fries are DELISH!

3. Chelan
Lake Chelan is my all time favorite vacation spot. I've been vacationing in Chelan every year since I was in grade school. From camping at the city part, to condos, to renting houses. It's the best place for someone who loves playing in the water.

2. Camera
My new camera! Its not the exact one pictured above though...mine's better!

1. Cat

My baby, Simon.

Do YOU want to play along? Leave a comment saying so and I'll send you your letter. You then pick 10 things you love that begin with that letter! (Easy enough right?)
