Choo! Choo!

Anyone for Mexican Train? It is such a fun game. This weekend I put together a little game night to play Mexican Train. Brandy first introduced Dawn and I when we were in England visiting. I've been hooked ever since. About a year ago, I got a group together to play (Dawn dominated as usual) and my friends have been talking about it ever since. So Saturday is the big game and I'm ready to win! Dawn, wish you were going to be in town! Next time. Pictures to follow...

DWTS

Did you all see Warren Sapp dance on the premiere episode of Dancing with the Stars? He was awesome! So light on his feet for such a big guy. I'm rooting for him. Of course, I have to root for Susan Lucci just because Erica Cane ROCKS!

FishEye Lens

I got a new FishEye camera lens over the summer and have been having fun playing around with it. Its a pretty cheap one but does the trick. Check out this pic of my friends Heather and Dougie.

Vaca to Alexandria and Williamsburg

In August, I took a trip out Alexandria, VA to visit my brother Josh, his wife Brandy and my adorable neices Ryan and Kate for a week. It was such a fun and exhausting trip! Brandy made sure I had my fill of Chick-fil-a to last me until Christmas. I love that place. If they had one in Tacoma, I'd be 500lbs by now. The day after I arrived, Brandy and I took the girls to a park to take some portraits. I bought them little pink tutu's and white tanks. They were so cute! It was really hard getting good pics of them together but I was able to get some great individual shots. Ryan is at a stage right now where she won't look at the camera if you ask her to. She'll look anywhere but the camera lens. Little stinker. See below some pics...

It was extremely hot out that day and I was not used to the humidity at all. Here I am melting away.

A few days later, we all drove to Williamsburg, VA for a fun little get away. We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge. Perfect for the kids and fun for adults too! We played in the water park. Ryan and I had fun in the wave pool until Josh pushed us out to far!

We hit up the outlet mall that night for some great shopping. Finishing the night up watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games.

Woke up bright and early the next day and headed out to Busch Gardens Europe. This was quite exciting not only for the girls but also for Josh and I. We love roller coasters! And I have never been on roller coasters this big before. Thank you to Brandy for watching the girls most of the day while Josh and rode every coaster in the park. Here's a pic of the first coaster we went on... definetly the tamest of the bunch.

I almost backed out of the best one of the day. It looked so scary just watching it from the ground. We rode all the way up to the top (the view was fabulous)then right when you we were about to fall down the hill it stops and you hang. See pic below.

You'll see in a close up picture that we are second row fourth and fifth person in. I almost peed my pants. The next pic is the upside down view.

Wish the weekend didn't end so soon! Maybe next time I'll get to visit Colonial Williamsburg. I had such a good time bonding with Ryan and Kate. I miss them so much! Thanksfully, I'll be back for Christmas!

Here's the last picture of Ryan and I at the pool. We were doing our "Sassy Girl" pose. We're so silly!

Bored

Its been a long time since I've last posted. Sorry, guess I've been a bit boring lately. I've re-vamped my blog thanks to Dawn Juan! Isn't it pretty?! Now if only I can keep up with posting blogs. I'll try. No really, I will. That's it for now. Will post again soon!

Racquetball at the YMCA

Amanda and I had some fun at the Y last night. We played racquetball or should I say tried to play racquetball on one of the courts at the Lakewood Y. I've found I'm really good at hitting the ball to the ceiling and the side walls but not so great at hitting the wall in front of me. I also discovered my arms are much shorter than I thought they were. The ball likes to just fly right by me missing my racquet by a good foot. Amanda is very coordinated. She ran right into the wall at one point and hurt her wrist. She now thinks she has arthritis. :) Then when we were walking out Amanda flirted with the old guy waiting outside our court asking if he wanted some competition. It was a good laugh. Anyway, its a fun work out even if we suck at it.

Just my luck

I burnt a perfectly good bagel this morning. It was so smokey in the breakroom I had to open the fire exit door to air it out. Thankfully no smoke alarms went off. I ended up scraping off the burnt part and eating it anyway. I couldn't let a perfectly good bagel go to waste!

4th of July weekend

I know its been a while but I've been boring these last few weeks. 4Th of July weekend was fun though. Danielle and I headed over on Friday to a campground near eburg. The KOA to be exact. It was right on the Yakima river which was nice but the campsites were a little too close together for my liking. Here's a pic of our campsite. Don't be jealous of the My Little Pony table cloth on the table.

Went to lunch at the Yellow Church Cafe. So delicious! It was so good we went back the next day for lunch again. I ordered the exact same thing as I did the day before..homemade chili, salad and a heavenly loaf. Mmmm..I recommend the carrot cake.

Anyway...we went for a long walk along the river, walked around town hitting the Saturday Farmer's Market then hung out at our camp. Roasted some dogs and burnt marshmellows in the campfire. Here's some more pics we took.
